Everyone has their own way of learning. The key is to figure that way out and use it to their advantage. If the person is a slow learner, then a slower approach is necessary. If the person is a fast learner, then a faster approach is required. I did tutoring as a high school student. I tutored other students in math. The tutoring program also placed me in kindergarten and first grade classes to help the teacher where needed. I have two children that are always asking how to do things. In addition, I have tutored adult friends for the GED test and the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). I have finished the Income Tax Course with H&R Block at the end of 2010.

I've taught Aesthetics, Critical Theory, Painting and Drawing at various schools on the East Coast. These include New York University, Penn State University, Maine College of Art and The University of Southern Maine. I currently teach at The University of Maine at Farmington. I'm also a grant writer, specializing in academic grants in the Arts and Humanities. This has made me quite proficient in writing clear, concise and readily accessible prose on a multitude of topics. I believe I'm quite a good teacher because I'm firmly committed to excellence in academic work, but I don't believe in being pedantic or dreary about it.
