I have known that teaching is my calling since I was a Freshman in high school. Learning how everything works has always facinated me and sharing that has been equally rewarding. It seems to me that everyone can learn, in different ways and at different times. My approach is to have several options of which approach will be successful. Being a 1:1 teacher allows me the freedom and time to work with a student on a concept in a number of ways until the cognition sets in for him. Being enthusiastic and excited about the learning experience is contagious. I always think about the teachers who were indifferent compared to the ones who were animated. My experience with teaching began in 2004 as a volunteer for William Saroyan Elementary School in Fresno, CA. I went on to graduate from CSUFresno with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology; Science is my passion and I believe our young students are in dire need of mentors who are dedicated to show them the world.
