I attended the University of Hawaii briefly where I was a teaching assistant for freshman level general chemistry lab. I taught lab, prepared quizzes, tests, and oversaw the general safety of my students. I also during this same time worked in the tutorial room where students of all levels of chemistry could come in with questions regarding homework, quizzes, and questions prior to the exam.

My style of teaching is one that strives to bring an overall understanding of the importance and relevance of the subject at hand. I believe children, as well as all people, learn much better and have much greater retention when they understand the bigger picture involved and understand why it is important to learn the subject at hand. I believe in relating the topics to something the pupil can understand and therefore grasp. One of my greatest teachers was a chemistry professor who was able to explain a complicated chemistry concept in terms of a McDonald's Happy Meal. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent gradtuate of Middle Tennessee State University where I majored in Chemistry with a minor in secondary education. I have recently filed to obtain my license to teach chemistry. My degree in Chemistry required me to take 17 hours in math, thus improving my understanding of the subject. I have also written many papers as well as written laboratory reports and even spoke at an Americal Chemical Society meeting.
