My teaching style is adaptive. I start with a lesson outline, from there we go based on the students needs. Since 2010 I have been involved with various jobs teaching, interpreting and using American Sign Language. I began an Interpreter Training Program at Nashville State Community College. After the first year of the program, I decided to move to a location where many Deaf people were and immersed myself in the language. I got a job as a job coach specifically working with Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. I also began volunteering as an interpreter at a local church. I later had oppertunities teaching sign language and also tutering some college students taking ASL courses. In 2015 I started working full-time as a Language Facilitator in the Cheatham County School District in Tennessee. Every bit of my experience is real world experience from working in the field. I believe that hands on or real world experience is much more efficient compared to book knowledge.
