I gear my teaching style to the individual I am working with. In 14 years I have learned that even though a method may work for one student, it does not necessarily mean it will work for another. I have been working with students in both one-on-one and group settings for going on 14 years. I began tutoring groups of children at an inner city after school program in Language Arts and Reading Comprehension. I have been teaching for 13 years. I began teaching Social Studies classes at the high school level and taught every variety of student for 6 years. I then received my Masters in Special Education and began working with special needs students in the high school setting. While teaching Special Education students,I received my Specialists Degree in Special Education. I currently teach Social Studies to learning disabled, emotional behavior students, and Mildly Intellectually disabled students. I am also in charge of the tutoring program for the whole school in Social Studies. I have a lot of patience and am willing to try anything.
