I taught an Introductory Geology lab for 2 years. I have been tutoring out side of that for the last year or so. I have tutored elementary students all the way up to college students. My experience has been primarily with children within my school or those around my neighborhood. I find that children are more capable of learning in a stable environment that they are familiar with. Children respond well with well timed incentives and subtle reprimands of lost focus. Students are more likely to acknowledge a lack of concentration skills once their intelligence is put into question. Under my tutoring students are able to concentrate more and see an improvement in their grades.
