I lived in Cuba for 6 years studying medicine. I speak Spanish fluently from that experience although I was born in Florida. I love teaching and interacting with young people all over the world. I am culturally sensitive and I have a passion for language, medicine, and the arts. I gear my teaching style to the individual I am working with. In 14 years I have learned that even though a method may work for one student, it does not necessarily mean it will work for another. In the first few session I test a small variety of applicable teaching methods and adapt them as time goes on. I enjoy teach with all different age levels. Most recently, I taught 4th grade science through the FSU Teach Program. It was fun and really showed me how to teach students and make the lessons engaging and fun. Its important to keep the child focused.
