Reading is one of my top subjects! As a Title I teaching assistant, I have spent the past 5 years teaching reading skills to small groups (no more than 6 students) and one-on-one individual teaching. Learning to read and reading comprehension are vital skills for students to master in order to excel in all areas of learning.
As an English major in Education at the University of Alabama, I took many specialized courses in writing and reading. I learned many techniques for teaching creative writing and reading comprehension skills. For the past five years I have tutored students in FCAT writes techniques, reading skills and comprehension, and basic mathematics. In my position of Title I teaching assistant I taught small groups (6 or less students) and one-on-one reading, phonics, and comprehension as well as creative writing.
I absolutely love teaching and working with children. Children learn in unique and individual ways and sometimes struggle in school work because they learn at a different pace than the class as a whole.
