My comments on tutoring GMAT : I tutor the math portions of the test - the quantitative section and integrated reasoning. We review necessary math skills, and strengthen fundamentals so you are equipped for the data sufficiency questions, and I give you the tools needed to quickly arrive at answers without the calculator. I teach a way to read the word problems to correctly set up the question being asked. We work on timing as well, making sure you are solving only enough of the problem to answer the question. My goal is to connect with the student at THEIR level. We start by going over the basics of problem solving and work from there to foster independent thinking. I use varied approaches when the student is "stuck." I am friendly, patient and very persistent. I can assist with classwork and homework, and will tailor tutoring sessions to your needs. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe any student is capable of learning any subject when they are taught in a gentle and patient manner. It is important to help the student gain confidence with the subject and to build his self-esteem. As the student increases his knowledge and problem-solving abilities his confidence and curiosity will also increase. Learning will become a lifetime pursuit.
I have four semesters of calculus, numerous chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, statistics, finance, accounting, marketing, management, and liberal arts courses. I also have a temporary CT teaching certificate for secondary education math.
