II believe that writing is a craft that anyone can learn--anad that the craft can be found in revisison: in re-shaping draft after draft. I also believe that most people are smart. i've had high school students who read at a 3rd grade level--but they were smart when addressing subjects of interest to them. I teach by starting with the familiar--what students understand--and then buiding on it.
