I love seeing children learn and grow. My teaching style is a whole, part, whole approach. I teach the abstract concept and then the practical application. After the application is learned I relate it back to the abstract concept and alternate applications. I encourage mistakes because they are a valuable source of knowledge and learning. I don’t criticize, but am very encouraging and open to the experiences of the pupil in teaching the material. I believe all people are capable of learning and succeeding.

As an educator I love to see "light bulb" moments, that moment where a student "gets it". The look on their face is priceless. I feel that in order to see these moments one has to understand that each student does not learn the same. Some can simply see it, whereas some have to do it. Each student has their special way of learning. I feel that I am capable of helping each student figure out the best way they learn and guide them along the way to where they will be able to learn anything they choose to.

I have attended three years of training with the Learning Success Institute of California, which specializes in a learning styles philosophy designed for every student, but most particularly for those who struggle in various skill areas and who have been labeled with various learning disabilities.
