I am able to collect data and progress monitor progress. I have learned to build on students learning styles and to promote differential learning. During the last three years I have worked one on one with students to increase their functional reading and math skills.
I enjoy working with struggling learners. I believe that using brain research and knowing learning styles enables me to support students in differential instructions. I love seeing children learn and grow. My teaching style is a whole, part, whole approach. I teach the abstract concept and then the practical application. After the application is learned I relate it back to the abstract concept and alternate applications. I encourage mistakes because they are a valuable source of knowledge and learning.
