Versatile Hands-on Tutor for all Age ranges

I prefer hands on teaching, but I like to remain flexible to the individuals learning style. Depending on the topics covered, we read, write, and do hands-on activities to keep the brain stimulated. Sometimes if applicable, and with parental consent, we would do art projects and maybe watch an educational film (that the parent has approved of course). For sciences and social studies I really like the idea of field trips, but everything will be permitted by the parental figures first. These field trips usually include going to parks and observing natural habitats, or even visiting the local museums. We can usually negotiate a small group trip which makes the costs slim to none to have these extra curricular activities.

My comments on tutoring Speaking : There is a saying that goes like this-Open your mouth so I can see you. How we speak is just as important as what we say. I have helped my students become more comfortable with their speaking, both in English and other languages. I understand the fears of public speaking. I have performed stand-up comedy. I was moderately successful. Several of my business students were complimented on their speaking skills at various conferences they were speakers at. I know I can improve the speaking skills of most people.

I am proficient in math and english and enjoy showing others how to improve their lives through education. Albeit I have not taught in a school system, I have taught my own three children in our own home school.
I really like children and love seeing the light go on when they finally comprehend the area of study that has been troubling them. I want children to learn to think for themselves in problem solving, not just go through the steps to get to an answer. Learning can and should be fun.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping people achieve their dreams and goals and I have high expectations for all children and adults I am teaching. As an educator I encourage my students to believe in themselves and convince them they have the ability to be successful in whatever they want to achieve. One of my students was struggling with C's and D's for grades and he was getting extra help but he was frustrated. Once or twice a week we would chat about it. I encouraged him to put forth a little more effort and I promised him his studies would get a little easier over time.
