A Little Bit About Me...

I began teaching 22 years ago at a middle school and later taught high school when I relocated to the beach. I also tutored at a local community college. The most rewarding aspect of teaching and tutoring is when the lightbulb goes off at the crucial point of understanding in the student's mind. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and School Leadership. Furthermore, I have 67 additional education credits pertaining to teaching, tutoring, communication and human resources. Throughout my life, I have always dedicated myself completely to whatever task I take on. This quality has helped me earn a bachelor degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a 4.0 GPA in my first semester of graduate school at National Louis University in the Master of Arts in Teaching program. I have an extensive background in science from my undergraduate studies, in addition to a passion for Language Arts - both will allow me to earn middle school endorsements on my elementary education teaching certificate. As a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in Elementary Education, I received my first teaching position as a special education teacher in the Rockford School District, 205. After two years, I moved into a 6th grade position, teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. I received my Master's degree from Walden University in Middle Level Education with areas of concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. I went on to teach 7th and 8th grade Language Arts. I am Title 1 certified and have 20 additional hours of training in the education field.
