A Little Bit About Me...

I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. This allows me to gain their confidence as well as not create a bored atmosphere. I find this very important, especially with the more difficult students.

The only teaching experience I have is the student teaching I did at Andrews High School in High Point in 1993 as part of the teaching program at UNC-Greensboro. For several months I taught American Literature and Composition. I have also conducted training classes on new procedures in previous jobs.
My goal is to engage each and every student in the classroom in some aspect of the lesson being conducted. Perhaps I can relate the lesson to experiences in their own lives, or I can tap into their knowledge of, or interest in, a particular subject.
