I have attended UNC School of the Arts for 7 1/2 Years studying modern/contemporary dance. I have also been trained in ballet, jazz, and have experience doing yoga, and Pilates. I am reliable, and very determined to teach those who are willing to be taught. I have done performances, and taught in New York, Winston-Salem, and Virginia.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always thought of myself as a progressive teacher. I always thought children could learn to do anything they were asked to do. I always loved learning and felt it was my obligation to instill the same in all my students, no matter what age. I feel all students are influenced by the use of art and music to learn and that is what I use. I know I can make a difference in each child and give them a healthy learning environment. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in Theatre Arts, a minor in Dance, and have received a Montessori Certification from NAMC. However, I learned the fundamentals of teaching (being on time, prepared, patient, and encouraging) from my first job as a dance teacher while I was still in high school. After University, I taught ESL in Korea for three years, as well as developed curriculum for a set of nationwide schools. In addition to that, I tutored students privately outside of the classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

I myself am a visual and auditory learner, so I am very open to all types of teaching styles. I find that people learn better when several avenues of learning are available for a subject. Also repetition is a very important device for making knowledge permanent. I like to bring a fun and light atmosphere to learning.
While working on my undergrad I was given the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for a freshman college level film theory and design class. During this opportunity I was responsible for grading the daily work of our students, as well as being a resource for the students design projects. I taught lectures based on film theory and design, as well as specific pieces of film.
