As a Highly Qualified Teacher in Alabama, I am certified P-6 expiring in 2015. I have altogether 15 years experience tutoring students from ages 6-24 year olds tutoring college students in Economics, Math, and Speech. I earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education in May 2005 and a Bachelors in Accounting. I am very aware that everyone learns at different levels and in different ways. I am observant and mindful of this in teaching. I have worked with children with special needs for many years. Also, teaching ESL has helped me become a strong teacher because it has made me excellent with non verbal communication. It is important to have a stimulating environment for students. I want my students to want to come to my classroom and become involved in the lessons. I believe in balance. I think it is important to have fun but also be productive. A Little Bit About Me...

During the last 10 years I have worked with all levels of students, preschool through college levels. These areas include reading, math, english, psychology, science and social studies. I am a self starter and have worked with parents when I owned/operated my private daycare. I have since then worked with children in low poverty communities in Atlanta Georgia, in order to provide an alternative method to learning to ensure that children receive the appropriate level of understanding of various subjects.
What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning.
