For over 10 years working as an Outreach Specialist for American Deaf Exposition, I travelled nationwide educating the public about resources that were available to the general public. A Little Bit About Me...

In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles. After graduation, I pursued a career as a chemist, but I always maintained a second part-time job teaching, in some fashion. Usually, that teaching involved a pool. I have been a swimming lesson instructor for 10 years and have been a YMCA swim coach for 3 seasons, coaching over 200 children per year. In these opportunities, I've learned a lot about interacting with children. I am also a trainer for my coworkers and new employees who join our team. Throughout High School and College, I excelled in Math and Science, and use many of the concepts that I learned each day in the laboratory.

My teaching style is very hands on. I try to make skills applicable to student's lives, which helps them internalize the information.
