I have had six months of experience working in an elementary school, I took a childhood intern class. I worked with 2nd and 5th graders. I mostly helped them with reading and math subjects. There were many times I would work with the students in groups and individually. There were also times I did mini lessons teaching the whole class.

I worked with Special Ed kids with reading, writing, and math. I tutored my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years of high school. I have most of my certifications in the medical field, but i also graduated High school a semester early and with enough credits to be a sophomore in college. I do prefer to work with elementary school kids, but would also work with middle school as well. I have been raised to know education is the most important thing in ones life. If i can help someone be more successful in school and give them the help they need to succeed that would be the ideal job. I love teaching kids. All kids can are different in the way they learn. you need to be able to recognize those kids who are auditory learners, and hands on learners and be able to make a good balance of both so both kids may benefit. I love teaching because I myself am an avid learner. I have a passion for the subjects I teach and hope that I can instill this same passion in those I teach. I believe that every student can learn the information taught in class, it's more a matter of finding out how each individual student learns. When information is presented in the right way (for each individual), it can make all the difference. What I find most rewarding is when a student begins to grasp the information and is able to apply it and perform well. I enjoy the challenge of teaching to appeal to many learning styles. I have earned a paraprofessional certification through the Box Elder School District. I have extensive training through Americorps. I have successfully developed a reading program for Adele C. Young Intermediate School ages 6th and 7th grade. I have had the privilege of spending many hours with struggling readers helping to build their reading levels and comprehension skills. I worked at the Brigham City Library for 6 years and Utah State University for 2 years as a facilitator. I absolutely love reading and enjoy working with children. I take great pride in helping a child who is struggling with reading to see them improve daily. I am very patient and kind. I think that a child really thrives with the one on one interaction and I believe that all children want to succeed, though they all learn differently. I think treating each child with respect and dignity is very important.
