I am a firm believer that all students can learn if given the proper tools and learning experiences. I utilize a variety of techniques and strategies to ensure my students learn to the best of their ability. I am very passionate about my students learning and very easy going. I have a great rapport with students I teach and will strive to make sure each student has the best education experience possible.
I began my teaching career by substituting and volunteering at the local schools. I then completed my degree in Middle Grades Education in Social Science. When I began teaching, I taught Reading 3 of the 5 years I taught and fell in love with it. I am currently trying to complete my Reading Endorsement and follow up with a Reading Specialist degree.

I finished my BA with concentrations in management and accounting at Troy University in 2007,then worked for three years in an Accounting Office. I left there in January 2010 to pursue my Masters in Accounting. I gained valuable experience in reading, writing and the application of mathematical formulas through working in a fast paced accounting office. I supervised one to three employees, trained them and audited their work. I have never officially tutored a student, but I have trained employees on accounting principals and how to write to the IRS and clients, as well as helping out friends and fellow students. As a former U.S.Army academics instructor, I have taught several hundred students from many countries in South and Central America as well as Mexico. The academic program for these students was conducted exclusively in the Spanish language. I have received extensive education in technical terminology, lesson plan preparation, classroom conduct, and teaching aid operation. As a high school substitute teacher, I was able to implement my military experience into civilian use with a high degree of success.

I have always had a passion for helping youth. My experience has been primarily with elementary level students including reading, math, science, the arts and English. I have been a student aide as well as a volunteer tutor at several different churches.
