My teaching style is relaxed, allowing ( and encouraging) more interaction with my students. I encourage my students to participate wholly, in the discussion. I have taught K-12 students and college students academic, college prep and adult education for 25 years. My students are encouraged to be academically strong , goal setters and goal achievers. I enjoy beung a lifelong learner, as I continue to acquire new knowledge. I have been contracted and tenured (by school districts). I began teaching (upon being advised to ddo so) as a substitute. My teaching style varies according to the different areas of need in each child. No one child is the same, and they all learn in different manners. I approach the student with a safe and clean environment in which they feel the most comfortable learning. A method that works best for them and a friendly approach that makes them understand I care about them and am there to help. I keep in mind that every child has a different way in which to reach goals, so I provide each child with an individualized goal sheet. As a daughter of an elementary education teacher, I have been driven by a passion to teach children in areas where they show need. With three children my oldest 16, my middle child is ten and the baby is 3 I have had the opportunity to help them learn and grow through school.I also sit in class with my fifth grader and help out because of shortage of aides. I love working with and helping our young ones grow not only mentally but to do it and they have a sense of pride about themselves in the end.I encourage and push and I definately wont do it for them but I'm there for support and questions.

In May of 2004 I graduated from a small liberal arts college in Tacoma, Washington. I majored in English with an emphasis in writing. The writing curriculum I followed consisted of writing personal essays, articles, short fiction and even writing for children. Additionally, I wrote several research reports. Research for my Masters Degree required a lengthy detailed dissertation which turned out to consist of four chapters and about forty pages. I have had to practice my grammar, spelling and sentence structur this past year as an English teacher here in Yuma. I strive for diversity of skill set. I obtained my degree in Law and Justice at which time I made the switch from fourteen years enlisted Air Force and joined the ranks of Air Force officer.
