Experience Summary
In May of 2004 I graduated from a small liberal arts college in Tacoma, Washington. I majored in English with an emphasis in writing. The writing curriculum I followed consisted of writing personal essays, articles, short fiction and even writing for children. Additionally, I wrote several research reports.
Research for my Masters Degree required a lengthy detailed dissertation which turned out to consist of four chapters and about forty pages. I have had to practice my grammar, spelling and sentence structur this past year as an English teacher here in Yuma. I have spent about two years teaching and tutoring students in the subjects of reading, ESL and writing.
Teaching Style
I love teaching because it allows me to connect with youth. I find them very humorous. Some work hard, while others not so much, but either way, a teacher can learn so much from their student. Working in educatuion is a challenge I enjoy, especially when I see how well a student progresses. I hope to be able to continue to make a differnce in a young person's life and be a positive influence on them.
