I have been working with children for several years. I started by teaching dance at a local dance studio while I was in high school. It was from this experience that I chose to go to college to become a teacher. I have a degree in Elementary Education and am ESOL certified. I have experience as a substitute teacher and have worked with both elementary and middle school students.
I understand that all children learn differently and I am able to adapt my teaching style to fit the child. I am both patient and positive and I like to give the student confidence. I love teaching elementary, middle and high schoolers. I believe that every child has the capability to excel at anything if they put their mind to it. I do understand that there are some children who learn very quickly and other who are slower which is why it is important to teach in different way. I believe each child/adult is different and each has a unique learning style. My teaching style will depend on each persons learning type. Some need very little direction before they get started and some need you to guide and direct them most of the time. I can do both and love watching that red light click on when someone finally understands the concept of something new.
