A Little Bit About Me...

I have been told by my first year teaching mentor that my style of teaching is "unconventional". Although I majored in English, I had a concentration in creative writing and a minor in visual arts. I think of writing as an art, and so I use creative methods in the classroom to teach students. A Little Bit About Me...

Personally, I enjoy everything about education. I believe that if you can educate a person, then doors are opened for them. I am the type of tutor that gives basic instructions, then I allow the student to try a few things on their own. If they struggle, then I will step in and help them. I prefer to go over the same material as much as needed until the student is comfortable with the subject matter. Then, I like to move on to a new subject.
In relation to the tutoring position, I have a year of experience in tutoring grammar school students in math and reading. As a graduate student at Mississppi State University, I was a teacher assistant for 2 years in Introduction to World Geography. While I was in college I began working as a teachers assistant at a Montessori School, I soon started privately tutoring students after school at the same location. I am a very hard working, organized, and outgoing person. I tutored students in Math, English, History, Behavioral Sciences and also taught private dance lessons.
