My comments on tutoring Reading : I have experience in tutoring with this subject.

I teach with the learning style of the student. I am able to change things up when I see the student losing interest. My manner is calm and patient.
With over 20 years of tutoring experience, I am able to help with many subjects and all ages. I have worked with students from kindergarten through college in many subjects. I have also tutored adults, worked with home-school children, and tutored in different test formats. Study skills is another area of experience.

I believe that learning is ongoing throughout life, and that we all differ in our learning styles. I like to present a topic so that it is fun, usually with tactile work using math manipulatives, or flash cards, props, and games that teach conceptual thinking skills, and methods of learning using visuals, as well as auditory cues.

My teaching style evolved to be well-structured but informal and entertaining. I am a comfortable and natural speaker and have had little trouble engaging the majority of students to be active participants in the classroom. However, my approach to the material is flexible and will vary considerably with the subject. When working with children one on one or in groups, I personally like to get to know the child on a level that will help me understand which type of teaching method to use. All children learn on different levels and different ways.
While in high school and college I have always held a passion with working with children. While enrolled in college I volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club near my university. For the last three years I instructed K-12 students in environmental science and outdoor recreation programs, as the executive director of a nonprofit educational partnership.
