My comments on tutoring Reading : I have experience in tutoring with this subject.

With over 20 years of tutoring experience, I am able to help with many subjects and all ages. I have worked with students from kindergarten through college in many subjects. I have also tutored adults, worked with home-school children, and tutored in different test formats. Study skills is another area of experience.
I teach with the learning style of the student. I am able to change things up when I see the student losing interest. My manner is calm and patient.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that learning is ongoing throughout life, and that we all differ in our learning styles. I like to present a topic so that it is fun, usually with tactile work using math manipulatives, or flash cards, props, and games that teach conceptual thinking skills, and methods of learning using visuals, as well as auditory cues.

The Psychology Ph.D. program at UNH has the goal of producing educators, and accordingly includes a teaching practicum consisting of two semesters of seminars in educational methods, plus 4 semesters of critically reviewed, undergraduate college teaching. I taught 2 semesters of Introductory Psychology and 2 advanced courses. At the time, undergraduates were notably lacking in writing and composition skills, and most instructors found themselves tutoring these skills on an individual basis, simply because the students needed it. A Little Bit About Me...

While in high school and college I have always held a passion with working with children. While enrolled in college I volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club near my university. When volunteering I assisted kids with Reading, Writing, and Math homework they may have after school hours. Upon graduating, I worked as a Reading Tutor. My job was to provide skills to improve reading and comprehension skills.
