I have public accounting experience in audit and tax services. My degree in Accounting is from the University of Alabama. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Accountancy and sitting for the CPA exam. I have spent time tutoring classmates and younger students in a variety of subjects. College grad with teaching/tutoring experience; kid-friendly

I prefer a hands-on approach, especially with science and math. I believe an education is more than memorizing definitions but understanding and being able to apply concepts broadly. I have found children grasp a concept better when they are allowed to explore concrete applications instead of studying abstract ideas. A typical tutoring session would include a review of classroom material, an experiment or observation applying that information, and homework formatted to the style his or her teacher's testing style. However, each child learns differently and adjustments will be made to more closely fit each individuals learning style and needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

Being that I am relatively fresh out of college, I can relate to most students on a personal level. In college, I took many education courses and spent many hours in the classroom so I am current on new teaching styles. I can help average students excel and poor students gain confidence through learning. Many students are afraid of math before even beginning. I have helped many students that math is just math. There's nothing to be afraid of.
