I have taught private violin lessons for ten years to students ranging in age from 4-26. At the University of Alabama, I taught the lab component to Intro into Biology for Non-majors under Dr. Tom Graham and histology under Dr. Jane Rasco. Through the years I have tutored school-age children in all subjects, although I specialize in tutoring math and science. All of my pupils have shown improvement in their scores, with one particular case bringing a failing grade to a C in one reporting cycle. I use a very visual teaching style. Any child can learn how to solve any problem, as long as it is explained to them using practical ways that they can understand. I love teaching because of the feeling of helping someone who is truly struggling in class! I believe that everyone can learn, but some teachers styles don't match up with the students learning style. I am a very patient and considerate person. I am a firm believer that many students can't learn strictly through theory and need to be walked through example problems.
