In today's classroom environment, I feel like some students might be a little hesitant to ask questions and to ask for quidance. This in part could be due to a teacher's overload and inability to provide one-on-one instruction or perhaps due to peer pressure and the student feeling like they could be viewed as "not measuring up" by some of their classmates. As a high school student, I had a teacher who dramatically influenced my life and my future career. She instilled in me the love for accounting. I hope I have learned by example. All students have potential. Some just need a little extra guidance and direction. I have found through the students I have privately tutored in the past that step-by-step instruction and repetition works best. I finished my BA with concentrations in management and accounting at Troy University in 2007,then worked for three years in an Accounting Office. I left there in January 2010 to pursue my Masters in Accounting. I gained valuable experience in reading, writing and the application of mathematical formulas through working in a fast paced accounting office. I supervised one to three employees, trained them and audited their work. My experience working in a local high school--as the school bookkeeper, as a substitute teacher, and as the cheerleader coach has given me the skills I need to teach and tutor others. I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting, and was asked by a former professor to teach a Principles of Accounting class. At the time, I was employed full time and could not accept the position. I have extensive skills in writing essays and research reports. Having passed three of the four parts of the CPA exam, (I am currently preparing for the 4th and final section), demonstrates my knowledge of the subject matter.
