While I was in high school, I took honors courses and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I tutored an 8th grade-9th grade boy in TCAPS preparation and helped him complete homework in Math (pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-geometry), Science (biology), and English. I tutored him for two years. After I graduated high school I was accepted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I am currently in the spring semester of my sophomore year. I like working with children of all ages. I believe that children of all ages and cultural backgrounds can learn if given a proper chance. I even managed to teach children in South Korea, when I didn't speak Korean at all and my students had limited English skills. I taught them through games and use of our workbooks and student books. I believe in making learning a fun experience with lots of games and an easy going manner. If the kid is bored or unhappy, it is going to make it much harder for the child to learn. A Little Bit About Me...

After finishing my Bachelor of Arts in English, I decided to teach English as a Second Language in China. I enjoyed my time there but returned home after a year to be closer to my family. The bulk of my classroom experience comes from teaching high school English in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have wanted to work with kids all my life. I love the way that they learn and think, and how different it is from adults. I studied Biology at Warren Wilson College in hopes of becoming a high school biology teacher.
