A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in guiding the student to find the answer foir themselves through the use of props or examples. I also would try to impart the skills that have made me successful in my educational career.
I have no formal experience. I am employed by a church to provide child care during the service. The experience I have is with my own children and my extensive tour of the community college system. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Fresno State graduate with my BA Degree in Liberal Studies. I'm currently in the Multiple-Subject Credential Program. I have two years experience tutoring by working for the Madera Adult School CBET Program. I tutor all grades and all subjects. I also have tutored for a semester during my Junior year of high school. I am very well rounded in all subject matters like: history, math, English/langauge arts, music, drama, geography and science topics.
My teaching style is very unique. I start off by just getting to know the student and having them get to know and trust me. I then build on that trust factor while helping the students with their homework. I connect well with students and they trust me. Having homeschooled my children (eldest is attending a top 20 public university)and volunteering extensively in the school community, I have become familiar with a wide variety of learning styles. My legal background has prepared me for tutoring in that I am able to effectively communicate with the student and present the material in a manner conducive to a learning experience(similar to explaining legalese to a lay person). Above all, I strive to ensure that the student has a true understanding of the materials, as opposed to simple memorization. I strongly encourage the student to take an analytical approach to learning, and to view both sides of any issue so that true understaning of the subject matter is achieved.
