During my time at Concordia College, I was a strong tutor and office manager for the Reading/Writing Center, helping with composition in both English and Spanish. My grammar and usage knowledge is quite extensive, and I love tutoring writing and composition. I've also done quite a lot of tutoring in the ESL environment, as well as tutoring elementary math and reading. I see my job as that of facilitator: the student is there, the information is there, and the student is the learner. When I began my college education I declared pre-med as my course of study. Unfortunately, since I had to work to put myself through school, I became burned out my the countless hours of work. When I was no longer having fun in school, I decided to switch majors and declared History. History can be very interesting coursework and also allowed flexibility in further education if I decided to persure more higher education. I try to utilize many different styles of teaching methods as everybody learns information differently. I believe that one will learn more quickly if they are able to do the task themselves rather then watch the task be done.
