Experience Summary
I have one year of experience teaching children. This experience was teaching a nutrition and wellness program designed by Fargo Cass Public Health to elementary age children. I have a BS in Community Health Education, which has given me the skills to design, implement, and deliver many lessons on health-related topics. As an intern at the Alzheimer's Association, I was able to teach professionals and the community about the disease. I also possess excellent grammar and reading skills as the result of writing many research papers. Currently, I help people with disabilities find employment. This allows me to practice my writing skills on a daily basis as I compose notes on the service I provide to my clients. I also teach them skills such as resume writing, how to talk to employers, and how to improve typing speed.
Teaching Style
I believe that all children learn differently, and if each child identifies the way they learn most effectively, they will be much more successful in their studies. I think it is important to have purposeful learning- give children a real-life understanding of the information they're learning so that it will stay with them in the future. I live by the motto "if you make a difference in one person's life, you've done your job." I hope to help prepare your child for the future by helping them be the best they can now. I love helping others and making learning fun!
