I see my job as that of facilitator: the student is there, the information is there, and the student is the learner. When I began my college education I declared pre-med as my course of study. Unfortunately, since I had to work to put myself through school, I became burned out my the countless hours of work. When I was no longer having fun in school, I decided to switch majors and declared History. History can be very interesting coursework and also allowed flexibility in further education if I decided to persure more higher education. I try to utilize many different styles of teaching methods as everybody learns information differently. I believe that one will learn more quickly if they are able to do the task themselves rather then watch the task be done. I also believe that we all learn through our own mistakes much faster then trying to learn from anothers mistake.

I believe that all children learn differently, and if each child identifies the way they learn most effectively, they will be much more successful in their studies. I think it is important to have purposeful learning- give children a real-life understanding of the information they're learning so that it will stay with them in the future.
