My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I taught ESL to a S. Korean family - 2 children and their mother - for 1 year. This is a tricky skill that requires serious fine-tuning and constant revision!

Hello! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in psychology (3.5 GPA) in 2012 and have been tutoring English; ESL; reading; writing; and more for 8 years. I began as a volunteer through my university's writing lab, per recommendation by a cherished professor. I have worked with children and adults from a variety of cultures (South Korean; Venezuelan; Mexican; Turkish), and I have enjoyed playing the role of "student" in my own regard. I love to learn about other traditions and practices. One of the most rewarding experiences for me as a tutor was when I worked with a South Korean family for 1 year. While teaching two school age boys, I was privileged to be introduced to a bevy of Asian foods; practices; and even the Korean language itself. I have four years of teaching experience at graduate school. I was pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Toledo for two years before I got a job. I graduated from University of California, Davis with a master degree in chemistry in two years. At both schools, I worked as a teaching assistant. The students I taught are mainly from life science, pharmacy and chemistry. The teaching job usually includes three sections. 1) Recitation. 2) Lab. 3) Office hour.
