My Passion is to help others achieve their learning goals

In my experience I have found that it is always better to not only provide the didactic, but with it there must also be an ability for the student to relate personally. As it relates to methods of instruction, I have always utilized the three step method of: 1) See one, 2) Do one, and 3) Teach one. This is also akin to crawl, walk, and run method. There must always be a teacher student means of communication that is functional and effective.

My comments on tutoring GED : Received High School Diploma.

I always start with the basics. We start with mastering what you already know, then we move on to more complex skills.
I graduated High School in 2011. During my junior year of High School I started home schooling so I could take college classes. I took three classes at Skyline College, all of which were completed with a B or better by the time I was a senior in High School. Along with my college classes I babysat a five year old and tutored him three days a week. During my senior year of High School I would regularly tutor a 16 year old and a 14 year old. After I graduated High School, I attended Modesto Junior College for the 2011/2012 Fall Semester. I always say I start my tutoring with the basics. Together we will master what you already know and from there we will move on to more complex skills. For a faster response you may contact me through email at: crystal_silva11@yahoo.c ... read more

My teaching style is one where I combine patience, efficiency, technology, variety as well as traditional methods. I believe that you need to keep learning fun and if you mix up different methods then it keeps the aspect of learning from getting boring. If a student gets bored and their mind begins to wander, they will have a much harder time retaining the information you are working so hard to teach. A great example of this would be for teaching children math. The internet has some great resources in helping students to practice their math skills by playing games. This is a great way to add a little fun and also teach important math skills as well.
I have a passion for teaching others and thoroughly enjoy the satisfaction of seeing others succeed. In addition to my FT position at Stanislaus University, I am currently teaching adult learners how to prepare for competi ... read more

I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. Although I don't enjoy writing, I am very strong in written English and enjoy proofreading papers.
I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I believe in keeping students engaged at all times, to minimize wasted time. Every child has potential. A teacher just has to know how to reach each child, and that happens when the students builds trust with the teacher.
