A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Monmouth College with a B.A Degree in Mathematics while being a four-year starter and two-year football team captain. I can serve as an example that studies and extracurricular activities can go hand in hand. For the first two years I was a chemistry major and my science coursework included botany, geology, and astronomy. Furthermore, my non-math and science electives were focused on ancient Greek philosophy, society, and recreation. The liberal arts curriculum and an incredible grammar teacher in high school have provided me with excellent literary skills as well. After graduating from college with a degree in English, I pursued a career in the corporate field. I did not find it satisfying and yearned to return to school to pursue a master's in education. I began substitute teaching in spring of 2007 and completed my student teaching in December 2007. I have been teaching English since I finished student teaching and have been a tutor at Sylvan for some time. A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently completed student teaching and have earned my teaching certificate as an art specialist. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students at different levels with varying abilities. I have had internships at the high school and elementary levels, with time spent both in the art classroom as well as the special education classroom. As a substitute teacher, I learned to manage an array of classrooms and assumed all duties of a regular classroom teacher.
