I have a BS in Biology with an intense curriculum including Math and Science. I have worked as a Science High School and elementary Spanish and social studies teacher for elementary students. I love teaching and helping students succed. Also, worked as an ESL translator in helping middle school student with their English skills.
I love to help students succed. By experience I know that every kid can succed at school with the appopriate guidance and stimulus. I know that I can make a different in a child life. A Little Bit About Me...

I know how to help students study and learn. I can teach ways to get important information from notes and textbooks to help students complete assignments and increase test scores. I am very patient and if a student doesn't understand a concept the way I am presenting it, I will try other ways to present it until the student understands. I also desire to increase a student's love of learning. Test scores and grades are important, but becoming interested, even passionate about learning leads to more long-term success and lifelong, self-directed learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

Every child is different, and each has his/her own unique style of learning. My goal in teaching is always to find out how each child learns best and to cater my teaching to the specific needs of that child. I also believe that children need to feel successful in order to continue learning. In my teaching, I provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere where a child feels capable and confident enough to take some risks when learning something new. Learning should be enjoyable and challenging, but not frustrating. I am sensitive to the feelings of my students and know when to switch gears when a particular method is not proving to be effective.
