I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates. I've tutored a few younger kids in various subjects in my high school years, as well as occasionally teaching Taekwondo classes.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with students of all ages and ability levels. I meet them and determine their learning style as well as general abilities. Helping each student to discover his or her strengths is key to success in tutoring each client. Working with classroom teachers or counselors is also very important as communication should be a strong link in the ability to pinpoint areas of need. Being positive and encouraging is a hallmark of good and successful tutoring. My students enjoy our sessions and the older students recommend me to their friends as well.

I do not teach "at" my students...instead, I teach with them, keeping them engaged and interested in the material...and wanting to learn more! I take a sincere interest in each and every one of my students, and feel that teaching extends far beyond the academics...I essentially make a positive difference in a child's life as their instructor, and knowing that is consistently my greatest reward. .

I enjoy teaching and more importantly I love helping others. I am patient, easy going and understanding. I understand that learning is a process and is not the same for everyone. Some people response better to different forms of teaching than others and that is one of the major challenges teachers face. I work well with youth and enjoy challenging myself and trying new teaching methods because any student can learn. Any student can succeed.

Even when he or she shows that the material is understood I will always go over it a few more times to make sure it really sticks. I will also try and make sure I teach at a pace that is appropriate for your child.
