A Little Bit About Me...

This is my eighth year of teaching. I have taught grades K-5 special education in the subjects of reading,writing and math. I currently teach a modified curriculum level one class in Immokalee. This is my second year of teaching in the state of Florida. Last year I taught in an Inclusion setting in the grades of K and 1. In the state of NC I uses the Wilson Reading Program to teach phonics. I prefer to work with K-2 children.

From then on, I helped and even eventually taught my younger siblings when the current school system left them in the dust, and even helped them get a leg up and advance faster than their classmates. My initial post high school education interests were in communications. I was a single parent to a son with cerebral palsy and "tutored" him through elementary, middle and high school as well as a community college. With his disability, my son required hands on help and patience and encouragement which I think I supplied with success.
