I have been a special education teacher for 26 years with the Davidson County Schools. I have taught all grade levels from kindergarten through high school. I am currently a teacher at South Davidson High School in Denton, NC. I have worked in self-contained and resource classrooms; however, most of my experience has been in the inclusion classrooms with a co-teaching setting. I have taught language arts and English for all of my 26 years in the education field. I currently serve high school students, both special needs students and non-special needs students, in English grades 9-12. Special Needs Tutor: Specialties: Patience and experience

I am open as to how I instruct a child. Since my field of teaching has been that of Special Education, my students have always been allowed to develop their own learning style that is best for them. Helping children work through learning issues is my passion.

I have 22 years experience teaching public education k-6. I began my career as a special education teacher and then moved into regular education classrooms. I now tutor children from the Zoom platform since I cannot see them in my office due to the pandemic. I have been doing private tutoring for 2 years.
When working from my office, I like to use hands on activities that keep children engaged. I love working with children. I believe that all children can learn, but each child learns in a different way. In order to help a student, you must find out how they learn. You also must find their passion. With this information (passion and learning style), you can help any student succeed. Many of my students have been considered as slow, but once I began working with them, I realized that they just lacked the basic skills. This past year, all of my students have increased at least one grade level in reading and math. Many have achieved grade level performance.
