I am a Music Education major at the University of South Alabama with an instrumental concentration in the saxophone. I have been playing music for 15 years and performing for 11 years. I have performed in the Super Dome in New Orleans for a music festival, along with Bayfest and other musical events. I can play any saxophone and also teach them. Classical, modern, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre. I am at the top of the music department at the University ofSouth Alabama. I am senior who will soon graduate with my Bachelor's degree. I marched with the USA marching band for 4 years. I also have performed with the USA Wind Ensemble for the past 5 years. I have studied the saxophone under Dr. Tracy Heavner for 5 years. I have worked with numerous high school bands around Mobile County. I also teach All-State and Honor band music to high school students.

I love working with kids, that's why I got into Psychology. I believe a "hands-on" approach is the best way to retain knowledge given all learning styles. If we do it, we will remember it. If learning is considered fun, we want to do it and all subject areas can have an element of fun. Positive reinforcement within a structured environment is my style of classroom management and it works. If a student knows what is expected, knows the consequences, and knows it will be consistent every time, problems decerase. Following the birth of my third child, I taught at her pre-school and caught the teaching "bug". I then completed a graduate program in Elementary Education, taught for one year in the public school system in Florida and then taught for one year in Alabama.
