I taught for ten years in the chicago public school system,mostly seventh and eighth grades.My next career was in real estate finance where I have almost 30 years of experience.I owned a mortgage company where I trained all the new loan officers.Also I was an owner of a small savings and loan where I also instucted new employees in many phases of banking.I recently was a recruiter for the us census bureau where I tested about 1000 individuals who applied for work with the census.
I try to make teaching a fun learning experience at the same time making it as practical as possible.My experince tells me everyone learns at different speeds and to invidualize each persons education experience is very helpful.

American History is one of my top subjects! I have lived in many historical places throughout the USA and am a huge history buff. I am a certified teacher in German and have my Masters in Secondary Education. I have taken over 30 credits in history including American History through film. I have lived in Gettysburg PA for three years and Richmond area in Virginia for two.

My teaching style is student centered. I will adapt the information according to the type of learner you are. I understand that no two students learn the same way. American History is one of my top subjects! History is one of our greatest learning tools. We can see the mistakes of the past and guide future generations to avoid making those mistakes again.

I go with the styles that fit the student. I generally use the first couple of visits to assess what works best for the student and then work with the student in a calm and patient yet firm manner. I do not try to force results, every student learns differently and has different aptitudes. Therefore, it wiser not to push the student too hard for results, rather I push myself to find new and inventive ways to help students learn the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

I first used my teaching skills while acting as a tour guide at the Astor House Museum in Golden, Colorado. I enjoyed communicating with school groups the history of the house museum, which was once a hotel back in the 19th century for travelers heading out to California to seek their fortune in gold. I presently work at Rosetta Stone and enjoy using my linguistic knowledge as a language consultant to help those interested in learning to speak a foreign language.
