Hello, I have a bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. I have taught in three schools around the county, differing in academic and socio-economic levels. I have personally taught grades K-4, but am certified to teach up to grade 6. I also have experience in SES and ESOL classes. Math can be fun and interesting if you have the right tools!

I enjoy using a variety of techniques with my students. We play games, use various software programs, and other helpful one on one devices to assist students in understanding and remembering concepts.

Since 2008, I have been a teacher and just relocated from teaching German at a high school in Pennsylvania to beautiful Sarasota. I have been working with kids of all ages for a long time. I love to see them learn and grow. That moment when they "get" something is magical! I spent the 2011-2012 school year teaching at a title 1 school in Collier County and have grown exponentially from it! I had several students in my class who needed special help, and half of my class were English language learners. These students have helped me to strengthen my skills and adapt to different student's styles.
I like to make teaching fun! If a student is bored they aren't going to be putting 100% into their work. I also use a positive reward system and celebrate all achievement. Even if it is minor.

Computer and other skills available, what I know I share.

I go with the styles that fit the student. I generally use the first couple of visits to assess what works best for the student and then work with the student in a calm and patient yet firm manner. I do not try to force results, every student learns differently and has different aptitudes. Therefore, it wiser not to push the student too hard for results, rather I push myself to find new and inventive ways to help students learn the material.
