I enjoy using a variety of techniques with my students. We play games, use various software programs, and other helpful one on one devices to assist students in understanding and remembering concepts. I have served as a guidance counselor in middle schools for almost forty years and retired in December, 2013. During the last twelve years, I have tutored students in math in groups and individually. My old next door neighbors have two children. One is a boy in elementary and one is a girl in middle school. I tutored the boy in reading and writing. He was able to read his first book on his own after a few weeks with me. I had to tutor the girl in math. she was taking algebra and was having a tough time with it. Took three years of college courses on Psychology at Ashford University, trained with a Computer Troubleshooting Specialist for four years, have two books of my own written word poetry published. In my time at Ashford I picked plenty of shareable skills, study skills, time management, and using my keyboard to it's fullest potential to meet deadlines.
