My comments on tutoring CAD : 10 years of ACAD experience

Relaxed, informative, hands on.
I learned CAD as a student studying Interior Design in the late 90's ,and have used this program for a little more than a decade in my career, in order to document the built environment and propose design solutions.While running my own Interior Design studio four years ago, I was also teaching part time at two of the colleges in Sacramento where they had Interior Design programs. CAD classes included learning the basic commands for drawing and editing,dimensioning, setting up a template and layers and plotting finished work. Classes also included plan view (2D)and elevation drawings,adding text to drawings and title block layouts. Classes did not include 3D. Creating blocks can also be taught,for block libraries etc. I have also taught CAD at the college level for Kaplan College and Art Institutes in Sacramento.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am an experienced Educator at both the secondary and post secondary levels. While teaching at Puyallup High School I received two awards for excellence for my work with special needs students. I was also responsible for developing a program that was named “Best in State” two years in a row. I have excellent teaching and communications skills. I am a published author with two books and four booklets. I have written educational curriculum to NATEF standards, developed many courses and taught classes to diverse groups of students. Most recently I was training soldiers in Iraq in the repair and operation of MRAP vehicles.
