Starting in October of 2008, I was an Instructional Assistant at Sacramento City College for three semesters. I help students with math, statistics, and science. I also gave workshops in study skills, learning styles, test preparation, test taking, and stress management. At the same time I began tutoring on a private basis. At this point I have more than three years of tutoring experience and I have worked with students of all ages from 10 years old through 55+ years old. I have successfully completed a Beacon tutor course in preparation for individual and group tutor sessions. I led a semester long Beacon tutoring supplement course in Organic Chemistry that supported 20 junior college students. I have effectively tutored/mentored a number of high school students in general education coursework, organizational skills, and in preparation for exit examinations. I have conducted community based math group sessions for junior high and high school students.
