My teaching style needs to respond to the needs of the individual. There are several styles of learning so I need to understand the individual to best know how to teach them the skills they need to pass the course.
I have worked in several different types of industries from hotels, restaurants, travel, mortgage companies, transportation, banks, theater, real estate and other primarily service businesses. Most of my interests lie in the financial and accounting parts of these businesses because of the importance of not only being able to present an accurate picture of the company's condition at only one time, but also to make sure that there were no mistakes, thefts being covered up, or other discrepancies. Very large companies have had loans go bad due to the improper accounting of transactions by the business owners.

I prefer to work one on one if possible, however up to a group of 5 is perfectly fine, because competitions can be made to help improve academically. Also kids/people learn best after making mistake or watching others make mistakes. I am an incredibly persistent guy and will spend whatever time it takes, with no extra charge, to ensure someone passes a class with an A. I have very reliable text books that I use to teach, however I know kids, despise using them so I turn the text into a more practical learning tool.
This is not very professional sounding, however I have helped all of my friends pass classes with As or Bs from 7th grade all the way to the end of high school. I never charged them. I live my life with the hope of changing one persons life each day in a better way. I will do whatever it takes to help someone learn and it makes me happy helping others. I am relaxed, calm, and patient when tutoring. I use graphical, verbal and/or written methods dependent on the skill set and approach that is best for each student. I believe that every student has an innate ability to learn. It is the tutor's job to find out the approach that will yield the best results with each individual student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have obtained my masters degree in education and now have three years experience teaching math. In particular, I have instructed 7th and 8th grade middle school students as well as 9th – 12th grade high school students. Specific classes include various mathematic disciplines up through Geometry and Trigonometry. With respects to Spanish, I am Hispanic and grew up in a Spanish speaking household. I took 3 formal years of Spanish in high school and an additional year in college. In the majority of the jobs I had, I was used as translator for Spanish speaking clients. While working for Farmers Insurance, I was tested and compensated an additional salary for speaking the language. I have a total of 36 semester hours of mathematics.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have currently earned a bachelors degree, BS Physics, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. While doing research I was able to learn more in the areas of biology and math, while also taking biology classes at a community college in San Diego. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. During the last seven years I have tutored students in mathematics and sciences as well as done light amounts of teaching classes in both areas.
I feel as an educator it is always important to learn from the students before you can teach them. The most necessary factor to success is being able to recognize just how the student learns and be able to take your teaching methods and adjust accordingly. While studying Physics at Iowa State University, I first discovered my love for teaching and tutoring and have been doing it almost continuously since then. I worked for the ISU Academic Success Center helping groups of 1-4 students learn calculus and calculus-based physics for 3 semesters. They always left my sessions understanding the subject better and gave me the highest reviews possible. Later, after briefly attending grad school, I went to Mexico and taught for a year. In my time there, I worked at both a private language school and as a 9th grade teacher at a private school. During this time, I learned a great deal about the English language as well as how to run a small class. Since returning to the US, I have also tutored my cousins in Spanish and ACT preparation. I now feel very comfortable tutoring for math and science as well as English, Spanish, and test preparation.< ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I've found that I really enjoy teaching students, especially those who are struggling, because of the satisfaction that comes with seeing the light come on. I've had many students explain to me that my class is the first one that they've done well and actually understand the concepts. I've taught Project Management for the University of Phoenix in the past, but I especially enjoy teaching math at Pima College... Statistics and the various levels of Algebra.
On the survey sheets that I've seen, I'm often praised for being very patient with students and very respectful of the students, no matter what their level of understanding. I typically spend very little time in verbal explanation, but a lot of time if running through examples with students so they can see the patterns for themselves... practice makes perfect.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really like to tailor my style to each student. I also believe that when it comes to math, students often need as much help getting over their fear of math as they do with the actual concepts. I have had good experience designing science experiments and hands-on projects to help demonstrate science concepts and bring these concepts to life. I was fortunate enough to have excellent role models and caring teachers throughout my childhood and would like to pass on the attention that was shown to me.
I have earned a bachelor's degree from one of the most well regarded institutions in the world and I have a solid math and science background. For two summers while an undergrad, I taught an engineering course to high school juniors participating in the YESS (Young Engineers and Science Scholars) program. I also tutored a junior high school boy for two years in all subjects. I've tutore ... read more

I am very patient and detailed teacher. I go step by step when trying to teach a child how to do something. I don't skip steps. If they still don't understand, I don't go on to the next part of the lesson. I make sure they know and understand how to do the first part before I go onto the second part. Also I make things as simple as possible, complexing a subject doesn't do any good when it comes to teaching.
I worked as an assistant preschool teacher for a little over 2 years.I worked with two year olds mostly, but the children ranged from infants to K level. I was responsible for supervising and assisting in teaching a classroom of 20 two year olds.

I have been both a teacher, substitute for elementary and full-time for middle school, along with having a career in the accounting and bookkeeping venues.
