I first discovered my love of teaching when I was in the Boy Scouts teaching younger scouts skills like building a fire or pitching a tent. In high school, I would tutor my classmates in English, a subject in which I have always excelled. I am most interested in studying history and geography, and I long to share what I have learned. I was a student for six months in Germany and the Czech Republic and can speak fluent German. I have experience teaching guitar lessons, and I am patient and understanding.

I first learned German in 1999, when I moved to Luxembourg. School was mostly in German, in High School, most my classes were in French or German. Of the three I use Spanish the most (as I use it everyday at work and home). My knowledge and abilities on the languages I speak is not limited to basic textbook understanding. As a caregiver for my two nephews and one niece I feel that I am very qualified to work with children. Since moving back to Memphis I have been very involved in their education and upbringing.
