Experience Summary
As a graduate from a small private high school (graduating Salutatorian) and elite college (graduating Cum Laude), I was afforded the great opportunity to work closely with both my professors and peers. The intimate settings and ongoing relationships encouraged dedication and focus. Complementing my BA in Business (Accounting/Finance) degree with a minor in Anthropology/Sociology enhanced my ability to understand and effectively communicate among personality and learning types. My range of experience spans from high school age well into adulthood and across many subjects, including, but not limited to, English, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, French and comprehensive studies for the GED.
Teaching Style
My background in sociology and tutoring combined with my client service experience has provided me with a unique ability to understand and communicate across all age levels and learning types. Typically a stagnant learning experience is accelerated merely by another person being able to express the same statement in several possible ways. Personalities are dynamic and highly influence the way in which an individual understands and, more importantly, retains information. Energy should be focused not simply on the subject material, but on understanding the complexity of the personality and tailoring the teaching method to the individual.
